BCIRC 2026 (BCI International Research Conference) The International Journal of Research and Innovation is a refereed journal published biannually by the BCI Campus (Benedict XVI Catholic International Institute of Higher Education), Sri Lanka. The main objective of the Journal is to publish scientific, peer-reviewed research findings that address complex issues, emerging trends, and developments related to diverse fields of study, particularly at both the national and international levels. Guided by our core institutional values of Commitment, Humility, Resourcefulness, Integrity, Synergy, and Trustworthiness, the journal seeks to highlight work that explores innovative solutions that are ethical, sustainable, and people-centered. The International Journal of Research and Innovation provides a worthwhile and vital platform for academics, researchers, and professionals who are spread out within the country as well as globally to publish their novel research work. The journal welcomes high-quality, rigorous submissions across multiple key disciplines, including:
Business Management
Information Technology
Education and Psychology
By bridging the gap between theoretical insights and real-world application, the journal serves as a catalyst for thought leadership, advancing the architecture of knowledge to empower society and build a more resilient future.

Topic: Securing the Digital Future: Cybersecurity in the Age of AI and Global Transformation
Abstract:
The rapid convergence of artificial intelligence, hyper connectivity, and global digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped the modern socio technical landscape. While these technologies unlock unprecedented efficiencies, economic growth, and societal advancements, they simultaneously expand the digital attack surface to an unprecedented scale. This keynote explores the shifting paradigm of cybersecurity in an era where malicious actors and defenders alike harness autonomous systems, machine learning, and advanced algorithmic capabilities.
The keynote will argue that cybersecurity is no longer an isolated technical function; it is a strategic foundation for digital transformation. Governments, universities, businesses, technology providers, and citizens must work together to build resilient digital ecosystems. This requires investment in cybersecurity education and research, stronger public private partnerships, international collaboration, effective governance and regulation, responsible AI practices, and continuous innovation. Universities have a particularly important role in developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and researchers while creating solutions that address real world challenges in different social and economic contexts.
Looking further ahead, the emergence of quantum computing adds another dimension to the cybersecurity challenge. Although large scale fault tolerant quantum computers are not yet widely available, their potential to undermine widely used public key cryptographic mechanisms requires organizations to begin preparing today. Post quantum cryptography, cryptographic agility, and long term protection of sensitive information will become increasingly important components of cybersecurity strategies.
Addressing these complex challenges requires a paradigm shift from reactive protection to proactive resilience and responsible technology adoption. Key organizational strategies, including Zero Trust architectures, secure by design software engineering principles, and agile governance models, are essential pillars for navigating this transformation. Furthermore, bridging the cybersecurity talent gap through continuous education, fostering cross sector collaboration between academia, industry, and government, and establishing robust regulatory frameworks are critical imperatives.
